I usually only exhibit at miniature shows for serious miniature collectors, but this weekend just gone I was pursuaded to participate in a fantasy fair in Hollywood. It was great fun and I met some cool people. I took some of my fairytale jewellery (or jewelry in US English). There were tiny glass jars of Floo Powder as pendants, magical toadstool earrings in numerous colours, and jack o lantern pendants as well as the Leprechaun shoe range. They sold well and I'll list the leftovers at my Pixie Dust Miniatures online store.
I also made Sorting Hats just for this fair. I sold a few but there are 3 left over so will either list them online or feel free to email me to order one direct. (I'm offering a 5% discount on these hats to those who order directly from me and pay via PayPal instead of going through Etsy).
Will share photos of the fair tomorrow. :)

Tired of kissing Frogs?

I've just listed two new pieces in my Fairytale Jewelry Range at my online shop. About time... I've been so slow adding more to this range even though some of it was made months ago and is sitting in a box wrapped in tissue paper, and achieving not a lot.
Reckon your taste in jewelry is magic? For any single gals out there who are sick of kissing frogs or have a fed-up friend who's reached that point (I know what it feels like), then brighten your / their day with this seriously cute little warty frog crowned in gold, and sitting nicely on a bronze-tone adjustable ring.
Or.... what kind of unique engagement ring could this be?!!
My jewelry is carefully handmade by myself to my own designs and in 1:12 scale. Some of these pieces take hours. Hope you enjoy having a look over at my shop, and don't forget to check out my other shop for recently added jewelry.

Wear some Irish * Magic *

Whether you're Irish / it's St Patrick's Day or you just want to add some Irish magic to your outfit... these are my favourite addition thus far to my Fairytale Jewelry Collection.
Until now you haven't seen much mini magic jewelry on this site, or on my shop, but all that's about to change, as I am putting my foot on the gas, and will be bringing you all kinds of gorgeous magic to wear this year! Interested in miniature food jewelry instead? Find at my other store here.
The tiny, detailed little Leprechaun shoes on these rings are one inch scale (because unlike most fairies which you could fit on the palm of your hand, leprechauns can be the size of cats, with large feet like hobbits, supposedly!) So they fit the platform of these lovely bronze coloured (surgical steel) adjustable rings very well.
The Leprechaun Shoe Earrings are a different design - being quite sparkly and glam. The insides of the shoes are glittered and the outsides shimmer in all sorts of shades of green.
Available at my online store now.

My Workspace... Making Shoes...

St Patrick's Day is this weekend! It's the 17th of March. Not just a day for wearing green, eating Irish cuisine and drinking heavily... it's also meant to commemorate Saint Patrick (387-461 AD) and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. ;)
Well, here's a glimpse into my workspace today. It's all about little leprechaun shoes... tiny little shoes (handmade by myself in one inch scale) which I am making into jewelry in the form of earrings and rings, ready for St Patrick's Day. Ready, though a tad late since it's in a few days! Oh well, they'll be cute to wear anytime of year. :)
Stay tuned for more of my Fairytale Jewelry which will be available at my online shop.

Leprechaun Shoe Earrings for St Paddy's Day!
Leprechauns are, of course, Irish fairies or pixies. The earliest reference comes from a Mediaeval tale about a mischievous, solitary little creature who was described by Yeats as a "degenerate fairy" who is "not wholly good nor wholly evil." Their main vocation is making and repairing shoes... so it seemed like a good idea to make tiny miniature Leprechaun shoes in time for St Patrick's Day (17th March) and these ones are actually earrings on surgical steel findings.
They're available at my online store as part of my new Fairytale Jewelry Range. :)

The Dust of Broken Heart
It's St Valentine's Day in just 4 days so I've made something a little bit romantic...
Do you remember that scene in the 1980's fantasy movie - 'Willow' (starring the unbearably gorgeous Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis) when the brownies have stolen the 'Dust of Broken Heart' from the fairies and all havoc breaks loose as they fall in love with the wrong characters?! This inspired me to make this tiny glass pendant containing some of the potent love dust for sprinkling on the one you want to feel the affects of your love charm!
It is a tiny 1:12 scale glass jar filled with rose quartz glitter, topped with a cork and silk thread and labeled as the 'Dust of Broken Heart' and has a surgical steel finding so you can string it one a necklace.
- the first addition to my magical Fairytale Jewelry Range and you can purchase it here
Scroll past my images of my 'Dust of Broken Heart' pendant and see the original poster for the movie and a still of the couple that falls in the love thanks to the dust!
