The Potion Table

For those of you that read my personal blog or like my personal page on Facebook, you will know that I just got back from 8 days in the UK. Had a wonderful time catching up with family and eating good food despite the sad reason for my trip (it was to attend the funeral of my grandfather).

Whilst adjusting to jet-lag, I decided to list my very special Potion Table. I made it to a very high standard as a piece to take to the Good Sam Show in Chicago later in the year (this amazing show demands the very best in quality) but decided to list it at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop and make similar tables for the show. It's not until October after all.

This table is in one inch scale. It was hand-painted in layers of black and 'duck egg' paint, aged and filled with all sorts of gorgeous items (everything is attached).

The Potion Table includes:
three hand-blown glass vessels (two of which were stained-glass painted by myself),
eleven different handmade potion bottles,
six handmade spellbooks,
aged scrolls,
a golden key,
a signature / trademark Pixie Dust Miniatures dotted spoon
and spell-tags on golden or silk threads.

Have a look at all the photos below. It's very hard to capture on film, but when the sunlight touches the little glass potion bottles they cast tiny rainbows of light on the surrounding area. I tried to show this in the first photo below.

This Potion Table available for sale here.

Potions, Tonics, Ointments and Poisons...

I hope people have great little spellrooms / witch towers / apothecaries.... because you can now have quite well-stocked shelves....!

I have just finished listing 11 kinds of potions at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop.

From Love Ointment, Envy Antidote, Bottled Fame and Eternity Potion..... you'll find it all in the new Potions Range here at Pixie Dust!

Each bottle is carefully made by me using a glass base, mixed media and finished with a brush of gold / bronze of silver-tone dust. They are in one inch scale, but look carefully at the Potion Chart below and you'll see that some are significantly smaller than others and could work in a half inch (1:24) scale scene.

As an introductory offer, all potions are 10% off for today only. This offer expires at this time (noon PST) tomorrow. Click to this section of my shop, click to buy potions and then enter the code: POTION before you pay and 10% will be deducted from your potions (but not shipping).
Coupon only applies to potion bottles, not on other miniatures.

Thank you!

My Workspace - making Potions

Since my Elixir of Life potions (blogged about here) were so popular last week I decided to go the whole hog and make a big range of lots of different potion bottles. I've made 11 different types and it's taken the past 42 hours and lots of patience... I never ever want to see another miniature potion bottle ever again! And I'm fairly sure I wont be making anymore of these once they run out. I'll be taking a lot to a fair I am exhibiting in next month, and the rest will be sold online as sets.

Have a look at my workspace at these potion bottles in the making... I'll post proper photos of the finished items soon. ;)

Elixir of Life Potions

Ever craved the secret to eternal youth, immortality? Mystics, necromancers and sorcerers from East and West claim to have found the key, the mysterious water which grants immortality to the drinker. It was a French wizard by the name of Nicholas Flamel who reputedly created the Elixir of Life.

And now at only $8 a bottle (for a limited time), you too can own it!
Find my 'Elixir of Life' potion bottles over at my Pixie Dust Miniatures online store. It's made by myself in one inch scale and a great way to fill those cupboards and tables in your miniature fantasy scene. They really sparkle in natural sunlight and cast tiny rainbows around them - difficult to photograph, but take my word for it.

You can also see them in the making (blogged about here) at my workspace. As always, email me or comment on the blog if there's anything you'd like to see in the making and I'll remember to take photos next time I'm working on it.

* These Elixir of Life bottles do not really provide eternal life. They are decorative and do not hold liquid. *

Fairytale and Wizardly Glassware

I've neglected my Pixie Dust blog a little of late! Been so busy making plans to return to America, working on my short film, creating for my other blog & shop, visiting Cancun, catching up with my family I hadn't seen much of the the entirety of 2011... so that's why! But... I'm back now and will be bringing all sorts of magic to the table this year...

People have often asked me for unusual glassware, so this is an amazing range of delicate, intricate hand-blown glass apothecary jars which I have sourced / commissioned, aged, changed and magic-ified. ;) Use them to fill your apothecaries and spellrooms. Available at my online shop momentarily.
