Mossy Fairy Baskets

For the foraging witch (who doesn't like to forage?) I've made these little mossy 'fairy' baskets. I call them fairy baskets because they look like something out of a fairy tale to me, but I think they'd work well for witchy / Harry Potter / wizardy type settings too. Could be good for Halloween?!

These baskets were entirely made by me (I didn't dress some else's basket base) and I lined them with moss and some of them have ivy growing up and around the handles. They come in 2 different sizes. Fill them with toadstools / poison apples or unicorn horns! I'll have them already filled with such things at my shop also.

One inch scale and will be available at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop soon....

Interested in seeing them as works in progress? I blogged about them with unicorn horns in my 'workspace' blog post here back at the beginning of Sept.... I know - I'm super slow getting things finished, photographed and listed lately. Sorry! Completed unicorn horns are coming too, honestly. ;)

Going Batty this Halloween!

Let's kick off Halloween 2012 with some battiness!
These are my adorable little spooky bats for Halloween season.... entirely handmade by me without the use of molds in one inch scale and with massive attention to detail (not to mention patience!)

I made several of these bats and each has a tiny little detailed face with a cute facial expression. You can see the eyes, nose, mouth and tiny floppy ears. They have fluffy soft little bodies and open wings which you can glue closed around them if you like (the wings are flexible enough to be posed). They also have little wire legs which means you can push them into furniture / a tree branch to have them hang upside down. I recommend attaching them to ceilings / furniture with tacky glue.

I'm keeping some back for myself (for my short film project 'Myrtle the Witch' - details here) so I won't list all of them. However, you can find some at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop here.

Don't miss the ones in 'extra small' size too.

Interested in how these bats were made? I blogged about it here a month ago... :)

Pumpkin Squash Prep Board

More magical happenings in the witch's kitchen.... aside from the onslaught of deadly pastries I blogged about (with more varieties coming soon by the way!), we have here a Pumpkin Squash Prep Board.

This little wonder is a carved wooden prep board displaying 2 detailed fairytale pumpkins, a hand-blown glass jar of pumpkin squash, a pumpkin squash recipe scroll, stripy straws, a cotton kitchen cloth and a signature yellow dotty spoon. Everything is glued into place.

I only made 2 and probably wont repeat this exact design, so find them at my online shop before they're gone!
