Enchanted Gourds and Pumpkins

Well if Cinderella's Fairy Godmother hasn't been near the vegetable patch then I can only assume it was pixies...

These Enchanted Gourds and Pumpkins are quite different to my Jack o Lantern range in which the faces have been carved in ready for Halloween. This new enchanted range have faces created with a touch of magic and their eyes glow in the dark.

I sold out of pumpkins at the Tom Bishop Miniature Show but I have 4 gourds left - available at my online shop here. I'll make more of both before Halloween quite possibly, but don't count on it! :)

Witchy Cookbooks

Take a recipe from one of my unique witchy cookbooks! I've got a 'Baking with Snails' cookbook for the sweet-tooth witch and 'The Poison Cookbook' for the vengeful witch.

All of my very own design, naturally! If you look verrrrry closely you'll be able to see the author of the cookbook was Mildred Ditchwater and both books even have a tiny ISBN.

A one inch scale magical miniature fit for the table of any witch / wizard or even Shrek's kitchen.

I've listed one on my online shop here, but Etsy is having some problems this afternoon so I am delayed listing my other cookbook and some other items. Hold your breath, I'll have more items available certainly by the end of today. :)

Poison Pie Prep Board and an Important Message!

Cutting to the chase... the Choose Your Magic Competition should have ended the day before yesterday (the 20th) but I am actually extending it another week!
This is because my mum and brother flew over and stayed with me all of last week (returning to England last night) and I was so thrilled to have them as no other family members have ever visited me out here in California, so I completely neglected my blogs and the competition... sorry.

As an apology to all for this inconvenience, I'll draw a runner-up as well and they'll get a Poison Bottle. :)

So don't let the chance to enter slip you by! Enter my COMPETITION here. This closes at midday on Sat 27th August.

*****************
And now onto... Poison Pie Prep Boards.. carefully assembled from things left out in the witch's kitchen. ;) On a brilliantly warped and stained board sits a classic poison pie (also available individually here) on a stand and surrounded by a Poison Pie cookbook (front cover designed by me), a silk tea towel, raw dough with rolling pin, poison bottle and red apples. Everything is glued down.

Available soon at my online shop. Email me to reserve one.

Snail Cupcake Prep Boards

I want to share with you these fabulous Snail Cupcake Prep Boards. The wonderfully warped wooden boards include a black cake stand with 3 chocolate cupcakes topped off with green frosting and fresh garden snails. There's another cupcake waiting to be decorated with a snail, a cookbook (my design front cover) called 'Baking with Snails' and has one little loose snail making his way across it. A magical and truly unique one inch scale miniature.

Part of my Witch's Kitchen Range.

Monster Bottles (Jade)

Been neglecting my blog a bit lately as I have my mum and brother visiting me from the UK!
I'd like to share some fun Monster Bottles in Jade. Their eyes and fangs glow in the dark and I worked hard to make the bottles themselves look like they've been carved out of jade. Part of my Enchanted Range and perfect for an apothecary.

Available soon at my online shop. I sold some at the miniature fair and only have a certain number left so as usual feel free to contact me to reserve.

Fantastical Beasts and a Blog to Know About

If you're only a fan of all things tiny then you may want to stop reading, but if you're here because you also like all things fantasy, magic and fairytale then read on!

I have only just got around to starting a professional blog for myself - one which encompases my miniature work, scale sets, illustration & concept art, and also visual effects work. A lot of what I do is towards the fantasy side of life, so it may interest some readers here!

Click on the image above to be taken over there. :)

Oh, and while I have your attention, the Pixie Dust Miniatures competition will start sooner than the 10th (as planned) due to so much interest from people!

Tom Bishop Show July 2011

Got back from the Tom Bishop Miniature Fair in Anaheim last night after a fabulous time! It was my first show in America and it was great fun. :)

My online shop will be back open tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd August) and I'll be listing items that were not sold in the next few days.

I spent some time with the lovely (and uber talented) Kathy Obrenski of Wee Little West and her husband Tim. Met a fantastic lady called Natalia of Scarlet Sails Miniatures and bought this incredibly cute Christmas stocking from her. Also made friends with the beautiful Maritza of Maritza Miniatures who so generously gave me an exquisite yellow (my favourite colour) cushion with tiny hand-painted silk bird on it! Oh my word - I was so thrilled.

Here are some photos of my Pixie Dust Miniatures section of the display before I left for the show.

The above is me at the show. Below are pictures taken at the show.

These are the wonderful miniatures I brought back with me! Macaroons by Wee Little West, stocking by Scarlet Sail Miniatures and cushion by Maritza Miniatures. Be sure to click over to their sites, follow their blogs if you're not already! :)
