My Workspace... Bone Pies

Continuing the theme of witchy and fairytale food, which will be featured in the short film 'Myrtle the Witch' (details of this film here), as well as my book 'The Art of Pixie Dust Miniatures', I have made some tiny individual bone pies.
Each one has a little chicken bone sticking out and is wrapped in black patisserie paper.

Take a look at my workspace below and don't miss other creepy cake and poisonous pies here.

My Workspace - NEW design - Poison Apple Pies

Because Poison Apple Pies quickly became my signature Pixie Dust Miniatures item, and favourite thing to make (just as my birthday cakes with tiny candles became the signature item for my other blog), I like to re-invent them from time to time and improve on the design.

You can see my very first Poison Apple Pies here.

And a few years later, my second design of them was here.

But today, they look even nicer, I think. See them below in the making, and please leave me a comment and let me know which is *your* personal favourite design?

Look out for many more witchy and fairytale foods coming in the next few days, and find out what they're being used for over at the Tall Tales blog or Facebook page.

NEW Poison Pie Prep Board

More poisonous baking is on the cards... this is another new design of a classic best-selling Pixie Dust Miniature! We have here a whimsical 'slate' prep board with a poison apple pie resting on a cotton kitchen cloth, shiny and realistic red apples, a hand-blown glass jar of poisonous tonic, the poison pie recipe on a scroll, a toadstool label and finally a signature dotty red knife.

And it's available at my online shop now!

Inspired by Grimm's fairytale of 'Snow White' and all handmade by myself in once inch scale. ;)

NEW Design - Poison Apple Pie

So fresh from the witch's oven.... you can almost smell the sweet scent of poison mingled with flaky pastry...

After more deadly baking.... here's some more homemade poison apple pies!

They're now available at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures store - and at a reduced price. ;)

Note that the poison pie prep boards are coming soon, as are the baskets of poison apples and 'Baking' signs with little skull and crossbones.

All one inch scale and made with great detail by myself without the use of molds.

I love to hear what you have to say and if you have suggestions for new Pixie Dust Miniatures I can make.

My Workspace - Bake Off!

I've spent the entire day baking... with a little drop of poison.

And yeah, I've had Tom Waits in my head all day. ;)
Since I'm sharing a lot of my works in progress lately (by popular request), here's my workspace throughout today as I made NEWLY DESIGNED poison pies (these ones are 10% smaller than my last ones and the design is a tad refined), and I've been making new prep boards which are different to the last ones.

These will be part of a new range of spooky witchy baking in miniature. Stay tuned for more and watch out as I'll blog about these pies again very soon and let you know when they're available at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures store.
