Potted Toadstools

Wondering where I've been?! I'll write a full blog post all about my adventures and creations over at Tall Tales Productions soon.... but before that, know that I'm back, and plan to update this blog far more frequently!

And guess what?! I have some really detailed little potted toadstools now available for sale! You can find them both at my main website (here) and also over at the Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop!

Pick yours up today!

Enjoy the photos below, including glimpses of my work space so that you can see behind the scenes. I made everything, including the flower pots myself - all by hand, so molds. Every little dot on each toadstool applied by me using a needle!

Witches this Halloween

This Halloween you can complete your miniature spooky scene with 1:12 scale (one inch scale) witches handmade in great detail by myself and available tomorrow at the online Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop.

If you want to purchase one of these witches before they are available at my shop, then you can email me directly and also receive a discount if you buy directly from me and not via Etsy.

A bit about these Gardening Witches...!

Their names are Gertrude Nettlebed and Petunia Ditchwater. They are both dressed for tending their weed gardens and pumpkin patches, and both come with a little pumpkin / squash, which is not attached to the witch, so it can be removed and you can position them to hold something else.

These special witches were handmade for use in the short film 'Myrtle the Witch' by Tall Tales Productions, but since they are no longer needed for filming, they are available for sale as collectors items.

Take a look at the photos below which show them from different angles.

Happy Halloween!

Toads and Snails in Print

Hello everyone!
Gosh, what a lot of travelling I have done this year! I have neglected Pixie Dust Miniatures over the past couple of months as I was away in China and then France. But, I'm back, orders are rolling in, the online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop is open and you're welcome to email me to make any request you like.

Today I was asked to make a pink warty cane toad for someone and I'm delighted to do this as I've never done it before. I'll show photos of my workspace when I get going on it.

Don't forget that my snails and toads are all available for sale at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop here.

That brings me to today's topic.... toads and snails in print! I am delighted to have a mention and some photos in 'The Dolls House Magazine' this month (June issue) and I have put the little feature all about gardening below. You can find a copy of this great UK magazine here.

NEW Tiger Snail

Good grief - I just checked messages sent directly to me at my Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop and gather people are concerned that I've fallen off the edge of the world / been swallowed up by a giant sea monster. Nope - I'm here! Sorry for seemingly disappearing throughout most of January. I have been busily working on a giant commission for a customer in Paris and will blog about that in a day or two. (Or stay ahead of what I get up to outside Pixie Dust Miniatures by following me here on Facebook).

Anyway - fun news - I have a NEW special miniature snail for you. This is a 'tiger snail' and you can see him below perched on the tip of my finger, and variations of him baked onto cupcakes below as well. Available now as a Limited Edition at my Pixie Dust Miniatures SHOP here... ;)

Pumpkins and Jacks for Halloween!

It's already September so I'm starting to plan for Halloween 2013... starting with these witchy pumpkins in one inch scale.

Here we have smiley pumpkins, worried pumpkins, smiley gourds and Jack o Lanterns.

I'm going to start listing them at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures Etsy shop momentarily...

My Workspace - Potting Tables

It's all about fairytale gardening at the moment... take a look at my magical potting tables in the making and stay tuned to see the finished pieces in the coming days. I'll make pots / baskets / buckets of toadstools available at my online shop as well as the potting tables filled with enchanted pumpkins and squash etc.

Potting Magic in the Garden....

Got green fingers? So how about a spot of magical gardening? These potted toadstools have already been grown for you in terracotta pots, so you can simply keep them on your kitchen windowsill for cooking with, pop them in a shelf in the dampest part of your potting shed or re-plant them at the bottom of the garden.

One inch scale and handcrafted by me to a high standard... these potted toadstools are now available at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures store.

Interested in how they were made? I wrote a blog post whilst these were being made with photos of the works in progress. You can check it out here.

Poisonous Toadstools

Step inside my fairy ring.... Kicking off the new spooky selection in my 2012 Halloween Range, here's quite a few poisonous mushrooms and toadstools....

Take a look at the chart below for the complete range and let me know which ones you like best. (Yes, I realise that morel mushrooms aren't poisonous, but I just like the look of them so they're being grouped in the new spooky range.)

They're all available at my online Pixie Dust Miniatures shop right now - sold individually. I'll list potted toadstools soon as well. All one inch scale of course and pretty detailed. ;)
