Grinny Pumpkin Cauldrons for Halloween!

Have you seen the latest spooky addition to my Pixie Dust Miniatures online store...? GriNnY PuMpKin CaUldRoNs for all your witch's needs and just in time for Halloween. ;)

I am really pleased with how these turned out, and because I think they're quite unique. One inch scale, and they're hollowed out pumpkins with spooky faces and 'wrought iron' handles - making them great little cauldrons for trick or treating or holding spooky things. See my photo of their teeth and eyes glowing in the dark.

Only made 7 and not making anymore, so get them while they're here!

Now I'm off to a Halloween party myself - all dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood...

Golden Goblin Cauldron

I don't know about you but I love seeing things accented with gold.... gold embroidery, touches of gold on illuminated manuscripts, even gold eyeshadow which I sometimes wear when I go out! So when I decided to make a special cauldron in 1:12 scale (one inch scale) I made it clawfoot and carved a goblin face and finished it with this beautiful, expensive gold shimmer dust which I was lucky enough to find at a specialty art store.

So here's my Golden Goblin Cauldron - hope you like it! You can find it here also as part of my fairytale range.

More gold magical dollhouse miniatures coming soon in 2011...

Bubbling Iron Cauldrons

This was enormous fun to make as I've never worked with resin before and thought it was brilliant, although it did make my studio smell like chemicals for days so not necessarily recommended...!
Basically, I made battered old-looking iron cauldrons first out of polymer clay. Then I put weeds and a long handled silver spoon inside each. (The weeds were scenic foliage used in miniature railways). I mixed up some green resin and poured into the cauldrons and layered with a mixture of varied size glass balls to create the look of bubbles.

Great fun!

Hope you like them. They'll be on Etsy soon. Let me know what you think. :)
